Before opening their doors in December of 2016, Centre Pharmacy hired me to develop a visual style and logo for their new downtown Calgary establishment. The pharmacy team primarily provides medication-based therapy to Albertans addicted to opioid drugs, addressing a significant public health crisis in Canada. As such, we decided on a visual brand that would invoke a calm and therapeutic atmosphere for their clients.
With minimalism and modernity at the forefront of their branding wish list, we decided on a fresh sans serif font, and transformed the first letter into an abstract mortar and pestle. For their colour palette, we settled on monochromatic blues in order to create associations with freedom, trust and stability.
And here's the result:
Khalil Raghavji, one of Centre Pharmacy's owners, shared a bit of his experience partnering with me to develop his company's visual brand:
"Ashley was a pleasure to work with. We approached her to design a logo for our company, with literally just the name of our business. She asked all the right questions to help us better understand what we were looking for and a couple iterations later, she came up with a design we are very proud of. Going into this not knowing what we wanted for our brand,
Ashley eased our worries and made the entire process smooth and fun.
If you're still deciding whether or not to work with her, you absolutely should. She went above and beyond for us, and I have no doubt that she does the same for all of her clients."
